Of course, life in these universes had to be accounted for. As the first organism came into being, so did Death.
Life gained sentience. With sentience comes a soul, an ever-lasting amalgamation of a lifeform’s conscience.
There was no way Death could see over every soul that needed a place to go post mortem. An afterlife was created for each universe.
Since each afterlife was accountable for every deceased soul in its universe, it shifted as needed to suit the soul’s perception. However, this shift was based more on the choosing of the planet’s patrons, minor deities, such as myself, who were made to oversee the flow of souls into the afterlife.
